Dieting is never easy but during the last 6 months hubby and I took a healthier step in our weight-loss goals and started the Take Shape For Life program with Medifast meals.  During our journey we’ve had some up’s and downs. We’ve set goals and broke those goals continuing to make new goals.  For the last month hubby and I have been following a healthy life style and enjoying our new found skinner, healthier self’s.  We’ve drop clothing sizes,  lowered our cholesterol, and made it easier for us to accomplish things that once were strenuous and difficult because of the extra weight we carried around.

During the program I’ve had a cravings for potatoes, peanut butter, chocolate, shakes, nuts and fruit. Oh how I missed fruit. I love fruit and the best time to get it is during the summer months, but on the Take Shape for life program while eating Medifast meals fruit is not on the plan.  Here is how I coped with the cravings.

1. Crave Peanut or Peanut butter then you should try Medifast Peanut butter crunch bar with Chocolate. This bar only has 110 calories 30 from fat. There’s 0 cholestrol and is loaded with  11 grams of protein.

2. Crave Potatoes? Medifast Beef Vegetable Soup is for you. This was one of my favorites early in the program. I love the great hearty flavor and the little bite size potatoes were great. I did add a bit of garlic to add a bit more flavor to it and this made it perfect for a cup size meal that warmed your bones from the inside out.

3. Crave the crunch? I missed those crunchy late night snacks but the Medifast Cinnamon Pretzel sticks gave me the crunch I needed to satisfy the late night munch snacker in me. They actually get quite addicting both hubby and I loved these.

4.  Missing the fruit flavors of summer- I fell in love with the Medifast Fruit and Nut Crunch Bars.  They not only had the great crunchy flavor of nuts but the sweet goodness of trail mix berry’s, too.  These were my mid morning go to meals bars.

5. Another favorite that satisfied my fruit craving was the Triple Berry smoothie from Medifast. This shake had little flavors bites of fruit that I loved to drink while getting the kids ready for their day, or my mid-day meal.

6. Craving Cookies and cakes – The Chocolate Chip Soft bake from Medifast hits the spot! This takes a few minutes in the microwave it’s the perfect freshly baked meal size dessert after a healthy lean and green meal.  It’s only 110 calories and yes it’s considered a meal. Lactose free and Gluten Free snack cookie!

7.  Beans and something a bit more filling- Medifast Vegetable Chili hit the spot! I never thought that I’d like something like this especially since I’m not really a bean eater. But heated up properly this really taste great with a bit of added seasoning. I’ve heard of people adding red pepper flakes to heat it up and I preferred a bit of garlic. (Yes I love garlic it makes everything taste better.)
